Love, Connection, and What Truly Matters — Even on Super Bowl Sunday

empowered motherhood love & connection self-compassion super bowl sunday Feb 08, 2026

It’s one of those brutally cold New England days — 0°, feeling like -7 — the kind of cold that makes you want to stay under the covers and rethink your plans. If you’re in New England, you know this feeling well.

I looked outside at the snow, at the sun shining through it all, and I realized something: we’re tougher than we think, and storms always pass.

Winter can drain your energy. It can test your patience. It can make even the simplest tasks feel exhausting. If you’re feeling worn down — unmotivated, tired, overwhelmed — I see you. And you’re not failing. You’re human.

Today, I want to talk about something deep — something that isn’t just about football, snow, or Sunday routines. It’s about love, and why that word keeps coming back to me this morning.

And with Super Bowl Sunday here — with Bad Bunny headlining the halftime show amid tons of conversation around his music, his voice, and his message — it feels like the perfect backdrop for what I want to say.

Here’s the headline truth:

🔥 At the core, we all want the same thing — to be seen, heard, and loved.

Not liked by everyone. Not agreed with by everyone.
Just seen, heard, and loved.

That’s the human experience beneath the noise.

Bad Bunny — whether you love him or not — is stepping onto one of the biggest global stages in the world. He’s unapologetically himself, he stays true to his identity and his culture, and he’s bringing love and energy to millions. And yes, some people are talking about controversy, language, politics, and backlash — because that’s the world we live in. But whether it’s music or motherhood, what we really crave isn’t silence or perfection — it’s to connect, to belong, to matter.

And that’s where this message lands for us, especially the moms reading this:

You deserve to be seen.
You deserve to be heard.
You deserve to be loved — including by yourself.

I know how easy it is to be hard on yourself. So easy.
To judge that one thing you didn’t finish.
To beat yourself up for loving wholeheartedly and still feeling tired.
To think you have to be perfect to deserve grace.

But listen: kindness — especially toward yourself — isn’t negotiable.

Valentine’s Day is coming up soon — a chance to celebrate love in all its forms:
❤️ Love for your kids
❤️ Love for your partner
❤️ Love for yourself

Whether you bake cupcakes, write little notes, have a dance party in the living room, or take a hot bath and call it self-care — those small moments matter. They remind you that love isn’t just a feeling — it’s practice. It’s presence. It’s choices.

And here’s the part that really matters:

You don’t have to be perfect to be worthy of love.

And you don’t have to agree with everyone — or even like every performance, opinion, or moment — to treat others with respect and dignity.

That’s the kind of badass love the world needs right now.

So today, whether you’re cheering for your team, enjoying the halftime show, or just trying to get through another cold winter day, remember this:

💥 You matter. You’re seen. You’re heard. And you are loved — by your people, by your kids, and yes, by yourself.

Be kind to others.
Be kind to yourself.
And let love be what keeps you warm — even when it’s freezing outside.
